Observation

1. Observation

First, I observe each student in order to understand their learning gaps and strengths as a student. After assessing the student, I begin to offer academic support by utilizing my subject-specific skills in a tutoring role.

2. Custom Plan

In an effort to enhance the learning experience of each student, I develop methods and strategies to address the learning gap(s) identified for each student.

While being attentive to the strengths and weaknesses of my students, I help each one understand how they learn best.

By celebrating the learning successes of my students, I provide each one with a customized learning plan that reinforces personal goals and beneficial learning habits.

Ultimately, my goal is to identify the most optimal learning technique for each student. In doing so, I help students achieve academic success through mastery of their learning gaps.

With over 200 hours of volunteering experience in classrooms, youth hockey camps, and youth hockey team practices, I have been exposed to several unique learning environments. As a result, I consolidate everything I have learned from my volunteering and tutoring experiences to facilitate my interactions with each student.

1:1 Online Tutoring

With weeknight and weekend availability, I maintain a very flexible schedule. Each tutoring session is one hour in length (or 1.5 hours, if needed), taking place via Google meet.

Each meeting includes an interactive online whiteboard that both the student and I have access to.
